Business persons can immigrate to Canada through federal or provincial programs.

Canadian provinces and territories have their own immigration programs "streams" through which they target business people (PNPs [Provincial Nominee Programs]). Prospective business immigrants with a sufficiently high score, necessary skills, education, business work experience, and viable business concept will be invited to establish and operate a business concept in the province. This process is normally happening through several stages of (1) expressing interest to apply under the provincial business immigration program, (2) acceptance to the program and applying for a work permit, (3) establishing and operating a business, (4) getting a provincial nomination for permanent residence, and (5) applying for permanent residence to IRCC [Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada]. Federal Startup Visa Program (SUV)
Business persons with an innovative business idea supported by one of the designated Canadian organizations can apply for permanent residence under Startup Business Class. A team of up to five people can apply for permanent residence under the SUV program. They can apply for an Intra-Company Transfer Work Permit to establish and manage the corporation's office in Canada.
