Express Entry Immigration for Skilled Workers

Why Is Express Entry Points so Important?

All candidates in the pool are assigned Express Entry Points, known as a CRS Score (Comprehensive Ranking System), for age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other factors. Only candidates with the highest CRS score are invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence. Read more about what is CRS score and how to increase the CRS score.

How Often Does IRCC Invite Candidates to Apply for PR through the Express Entry?

On average, two or three times in a month IRCC invites candidates to apply for permanent residence in Express Entry Draws, known as Express Entry Invitation Rounds. Individual points are determinative, however, the cut-off score varies. We post the results of the latest Express Entry Draw, CRS score of the lowest-ranked candidate and the number of invitations issued on our home page.
So, candidates in the Express Entry Pool waiting for an invitation may be selected in any of the monthly Invitation Rounds.
Express Entry Process – Key Six Steps
Canada immigration process with Express Entry has the following key stages:
#1 – Finding out your eligibility
Use our free assessment form to evaluate if you can immigrate to Canada through Express Entry.
#1 – Finding out your eligibility
Use our free assessment form to evaluate if you can immigrate to Canada through Express Entry.

#2 – Creating and submitting Express Entry Profile

To register a profile, foreign workers will need information from some or all of the following documents – passport or travel document, language test results, education credential assessment report, provincial nomination, a written job offer from an employer in Canada. Candidates have sixty (60) days to complete and submit the Express Entry Profile or will have to start again.

#3 – Getting into the Express Entry Pool of candidates.

Foreign nationals are accepted in the Express Entry Pool only if they meet the minimum requirements of at least one of the three programs described above- CEC, FSW, or STW. Those who are not invited to apply for permanent residence within twelve (12) months must re-submit a profile.

#4 – Creating a Job Match account with Job Bank.
The creation of a job seeker account on Job Bank is optional. As a result, Canadian employers can see resumes of account holders and may offer a job in Canada to a foreign national. Job offer from Canadian employer adds Express Entry points and increase CRS score. It must be supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
Step 5 – Receive an invitation and apply for Canadian permanent residence.
Candidates with the highest Express Entry score are invited to apply for permanent residence. 60 days are given for candidates to upload all supporting documents, update information, and submit Express Entry application for permanent residence.

Candidates need to upload copies of the documents they used for the Express Entry profile as well as police certificates, medical exams, and proof of funds in most cases.

Step 6 – Express Entry processing time is 6 months.

IRCC processes complete applications within a 6-month period of time or less.
